TEAM TASH - JUNE 2019 UPDATES

Such extraordinary results for our amazing sponsored archers team, in June!

Such a capricious June, yet so rich in events, competitions and most of all, in such extraordinary results for our amazing sponsored archers team. And the Summer has just begun!

Rachel Vines won the 1stplace at Deer Park WA3D field shoot, the 3rdplace in day 2, at Evesham Summer Shoot and the 5thplace in day 1 of the UK Masters. And she was selected to shoot for England at the Home Nations match at British Target Championships (Ladies Recurve) in August this year.

Yulia Larkins came 1stin Ladies recurve category both in Ranking round and H2Hs on June 29th, at Gronant Bowmen in Wales (with score of 629) and won Gold on June 30that Crystal Palace Bowmen Ladies Recurve WA1440. She also was selected to shoot for England at the Home Nations match at British Target Championships (Ladies Recurve) in August this year. 

Jim Metcalfe came 1stin the National bowhunter championships in Norwich, after 2 days of shooting.

Lizzie Foster was selected to shoot for England at the Home Nations match at British Target Championships (reserve) in August this year.

Synead Birne won the 1stplace in Ballyvally Primrose Field Shoot (BRS), on June 8thand 9th, represented her Club (Ballyvally) as part of a team in the ANI Inter club sports and won also the 1stplace on June 15th; she won the 2ndplace in N. I Performance Academy Early Summer 720 and the 2ndplace in H2H on June 22nd. Synead also won the 2ndplace in N. I Performance Academy Early Summer Double 720, on June 23rd. On June 29th, she won the 1stplace and a new PB in All Ireland Series 2019 (day 5) 720 and on June 30 she shot in All Ireland Series 2019 720 + H2H.

Brett Stringer was a member of the winning Hampshire Gents Barebow Team, at this year’s AGB National Intercounties competition at Lilleshall; mid-June, he passed AGB Level 1 Coaching Course – Assessment and also took the 1stPlace (Gents – Barebow) in Bowmen of Burleigh Open – York Round, with a new PB = 819; 1stGMB Score.

Rebekah Tipping came 3rdat BUCS outdoors 1440, 1stin the H2H event, and 1stin the team event. She was also part of t e Warwickshire team that won the county team tournament at Lilleshall.

Gergo Deak won the fita 720 organised by Slavia on June 22ndand finished in the best 10 in Strahov tournament organised by Start Praha on June 1st. He also trained with Freital archers in Dresden, on June 29th.

Michael Kells came 3rdat the AGB UK Masters. He also had been selected to shoot for England at the home nations match that takes place during the British Target Champs (Gents Compound).

Jacob Caine finished his GCSE exams (congratulations, Jacob!) and shot in Mole Valley – D50/70.

Oliver Robinson participated in the Archery GB key event 2 and added 60 points to his 50m PB. He also shot in the Lancashire Outdoor Junior Championships at Bowmen of Pendle and Samlesbury (with his TRU Ball / AXCEL Archery sweet spot pro). He achieved his 3rdJunior Master Bowmen score of 2019 and secured his place at the 2020 Junior Masters. And he is the Under 14 Lancashire Champion.

Jon Parris took the Gold at The Gronant Bowmen – Bowmen of Bruntwood (Gents Recurve) WA1440 & Metrics.

Kate Dunnighan – off to Berlin World Cup on June 29th.

Lydia Sinnett-Smith is Oxfordshire County Champs county champion; she took the Bronze in the H2H in the 1stday, in mixed conditions, then Silver in the open shoot and Gold, becoming county champion in the 1440.

Malcolm Alexander won Northern Area Gents Recurve Championships and took Gold for the Double round. He shot at Glamis and UK Masters (90&70), competed at the UK Masters at Lilleshall, with a total score of 1179; he also participated in Penny Challenge at Penicuik.

Fiona Hirst won Northern Area champs ladies Hereford with a PB of 1124. She also participated in UK Masters at Lilleshall, shooting 1227.

Mandi Theron got the Gold at the Tshwane Indoor Championship (Pretoria, South Africa) and the Bronze at the Kempton Park IFAA Championship.

Euan Pride competed in the Northern Area Championships at Banchory. He won the U16 boy compound title shooting a Bristol II and has claimed a Scottish record for the Bristol II Double. On 27thhe has been selected to be part of the Northern Area team to compete in the Pentangle in August. He trains a lot for the Junior Nationals outdoor champs which will take part on July 6thand 7that Lilleshall.

Märt Oona attended World Championships in Den Bosch, where he shot 639 for a 128thplace in the qualifications, missing the cut by 6 points. Also he attended European Games, where he finished 33rd.

Shannon Benton won her category Junior Female Barebow Recurve and 
Dan Benton won his Adult male freestyle unlimited.

Ieuan Thomas placed 1stin the WFAA FMT Stage 3. He also placed 1stat the Welsh & Open Field Championships.

Jack Lucas shot a double WA 70 and scored a PB at Burton Joyce Archers.

Wendy Aubrey finished 2ndin double mixed field shoot at Wharfe Valley Archers, shot strongly in the H2HE at Evesham and participated in the National County Team Tournament powered by Arbonne.

Charlie Birch is Oxfordshire County Champs county champion and 1stin the H2H matches. She placed 2ndin the team round with teammate Sarah Bettles, at UK’s Masters.   

Hannah Burnage won the 3rdplace in BUCS outdoors 2019.

Eléonore Cossade shot an MB score on the WA1440 at the UK’s Masters. She seeded 2ndin the Oxfordshire County Outdoor Champs and finished with Silver.

Ellie Cole took part in the GB Youth Selection shoot at the beginning of the month, one of only 8 GB Cadet Girls to shoot the selection scores for this year but unfortunately developed a back injury shortly afterwards which has prevented her shooting or training since then. Take good care of yourself, Ellie!

Shauna Punjabi took part in Surrey Friendly inter-county and shot the Aim4sport key stage 2.

Bethany Sinclair came 1stat Fox’s shoot and also first at Allington shooting a Bristol 2, with a PB.

Mirran Yule participated in GB key 2 junior event. Moved on to H2H, winning 2 out of 3; the second day was H2H and team H2H. Onto the doubles she won Bronze. She also participated in the Newcastle 720 70m WRS.

Marcus Yeoman participated in the UK’s Masters. During the 1stday 1440, he shot an MB (second one this year). The second day he shot well in the team event, then in his first shooting round he shot a 146 under awful meteorological conditions and finished the 9th

Saffron Cullen participated in the World Championships in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. She’s currently ranked 2ndjust after Mark Sharvin in a county league in the elite senior division.

Mark Sharvin represented Ireland at the Archery World Championships at the beginning of June.

Jaime Rodriguez took part in the 5thNational Grand Prix in Valladolid, on June 15th. The results: qualification round – 583 points and 20thposition, 1/24 round 2/6, versus “Lolo” 1/16 round 4/6, versus Mercader (Spanish top archer) fall in 1/8 round.

Katsaitis Panagiotis participated in 2 competitions. In the first competition he came 4thwith a score of 610/720 and in the second competition he was 1stin the qualifications with a score of 626/720 and ended up 2ndin the eliminations.

Jurgen Hoxha prepared himself for WC in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Holland World Cup (9-16 June) and presented Albania at the European Games MINSK2019 for the first time in its sports history (June 21st).

Itay Shanny shot in his first world championships in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands and participated in the second European Games in Minsk, Belarus (ranked 34thin eliminations with 639; it was his first time shooting in a finals venue, and participating in a sports event of that calibre). On June 28thhe shot 1252 in a national 1440 competition (first time shooting that format in a few years). 

Jasmine Simpson shot two PB’s for a western round at the Wyre Forest and Burton Bridge westerns (she placed 1stat Wyre Forest and 2ndat Burton Bridge). She also shot at the Eagle Bowmen Clout, where 3 rounds were shot in 2 days. She won the overall junior trophy for the 2-way Clout and beat both of the national records. She also placed 1stfor the Metric Clout and 2ndfor the Imperial.

Peter Webb won the 1stplace at Wyre Forest Company of Archers, Western round, on June 2nd.

Jessica Pollitt (age 12) participated in Gronant Bowmen weekend – Junior ladies Compound Metric 3 and shot above her age group an U16 round with a score 1293.

Magnus Fredriksson shot a two days 3D tournament in Drammen (Norway) and ended up the 4th. He also shot a 3D competition in Sweden and ended up again “in the newspaper” coming in 2ndplace with only one point behind.
