Team TASH - February 2019 Updates

A very busy “not too busy” month, with a lot of local, national and international indoor tournaments, and training for the outdoor archery season opening.

Here’s why we are so proud of our TASH Sponsored Archers Team:

Yulia Larkins took the first place in Ladies Recurve at SCAS Indoor Championships – Battle of Basing. It was the first competition for her new Win&Win bow (ATF riser & NS-G Graphene limbs, provided by The Archery Shop. 

Brett Stringer won for the first time indoors this season and became SCAS Indoor Gents Barebow Champion, at SCAS Indoor Championships 2019 / Old Basing Indoor WRS Combined. 

On February 2nd and 3rd, at the Hampshire Indoor Archery Weekend he won two silver medals, during two days of competition, WA Combined.

Ieuan Thomas had his first major outing with the Mathews TRX38, took the first place in the Southern Qualifiers and joint 3rd nationally, at the BUCS Indoor Archery Championships – Southern Qualifier, in Crawley, where he represented Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Rebekah Tipping finished in second place at BUCS Northern Qualifiers in Edinburgh. It was the second highest score she had shot this season.

Magnus Fredriksson (Sweden) participated at two 3D competitions in Norway and took second place in both, with two arrows per target and a total of 24 targets. The score for the first competition: 481 (the winner – 488). The score for the second competition: 486 (the winner – 500). Next up is the Swedish national competition for indoors.

Katsaitis Panagiotis (Greece) had “the shots of his life!” at the individual elimination rounds and took the first place at the Greece National Indoor Championship – February 17th and 18th, by hitting the 10 in the shoot off. He became national indoor champion.

The first day’s qualification round had ended with him taking the third place and him and his sister taking the third place at the mixed team competition.

Marcus Yeoman became Devon and Cornwall Archery Society (DCAS) county champion. with a 587 finish, on February 23rd. Bonus wining the team trophy with Darren Bennion and Andrew.

Bethany Sinclair (Ireland)shot her first indoor shoot at the Gravesend Archers Shrimp Shoot and came second in the overall Junior category. 

Michael Kells managed a 296 and 298 to finish 9th at SCAS Indoor Championships – Battle of Basing – Nerves of Steel, on February 23rd.

On February 2nd, he representing Kent for the inter-counties match against Sussex, Surrey and Essex.

Michelle Sword participatedat SCAS Indoor Championships – Battle of Basing – Nerves of Steel.

Lydia Sinnet-Smith took the6th place at SCAS Indoor Championships, on February 24th. Racked in two county records pending verification for the WA25 and Combined rounds. A solid end to indoors! 

On February 23rd she made it to round 3 of Nerves of Steel! 

On February 10th, Lydia represented Cheshire County Bowmen at the Jolly Archers 25th Open Indoor and took the gold in the open shoot and county champs (individual and team).

Oliver Robinson had ashoot and training in the Cumbria County Archery Association Indoor (536 and second place overall).

Sinead Byrne participatedat The Vegas Shoot Archery – USA, February 8th – 10th.  

Mirran Yule participated at The Vegas Shoot Archery – USA, February 8th – 10th.  

Wendy Aubrey shot the Compound handicap and made the B team. 

Charlie Birch participated at the SCAS Indoor Championship, February 23rd – 24th.

Hannah Burnage participated atThe BUCS Indoor Archery Championships – Northern Qualifier, February 16th – 17th.

Eleonore Cossade had a very enjoyable day at SCAS Indoor Championship – Battle of Basing, on February 24th.

Jaime Rodríguez Campos (Spain) has trained a lot during February for the 1st National Grand Prix (which begun on March 2nd)

Fiacra MacDermott (Ireland) shot at the Student Nationals in Cork, February 23rd – 24th.

Jasmine Simpson participated at WFCA Portsmouth, scoring 457 CWAA and WMAS championships, which was a 3 spot F.I.T.A. 18, scoring 357.

James Towle had3 personal bests, took team first place and third place individual at SCAS Indoor Championships, on February 24th.
