Team TASH - July 2018 Updates

It was a very, very hot month, but our archers were there, on the shooting line, doing their best. Here are some highlights:

MALCOLM ALEXANDER & FIONA HIRST attended the shoot at Banchory. Fiona won ladies Recurve double 1440 and managed her second MB score, whilst Malcolm won the gents Recurve. 

CHRIS BAIGENT achieved his Grand Master Bowmen classification for Target and Clout. 

JIM METCALFE will be representing GB at the European 3D championships in Sweden. Well done Jim, the last 10 months of hard work have been totally worth it. 

ALEX SMITH’s July was busy: competing at the national Intercounties tournament, as a team they finished 3rd overall after ranking 4th in the 720, 3rd in the Fita section and won the H2H matchplay. He told us he hasd a great weekend and it was very enjoyable shooting for Oxfordshire and coming away on the podium.
After that, he competed in Surrey National Tour stages. The main highlight here was Alex ranking 1st in the 720.

RACHEL VINES had a hot weekend of archery at Supermarine. She shot the double WA720 and the WA1440 – 2 days and 2 wins. She also competed in the AGB National Tour Stages 4&5 in Surrey. She had her best performance so far at a National Tour stage, ranking 6th and getting all the way to the bronze match where the nerves kicked in and ended up 4th overall.

RYAN HOLDEN shot the Kent archery weekend. He came 4th on the first day and 1st on the 1440; he won the overall weekend. He also went to Bulgaria representing Great Britain at the European Grand Prix – his first senior cap. 

ALEC HODGKINSON have been selected to shoot for Wales at the Euronations.

JASMINE SIMPSON won the Coastal Archers Imperial Clout. 

VICKY BURDEN shot at The Bournemouth Blue Lion Tournament, where she came second and won the best Compound Gold.

ROISIN MOONEY participated in the Irish Series:
– Day 6 – she finished 4th in the women’s recurve, qualifying for the final.
– Day 7 – she finished 6th in the double 720 in the open category.
– Day 8 – she ranked 6th after the head to heads in the open category.
She also shot in her first outdoor world cup.

ELLIE COLE had a mixed Tournament at the Youth Festival but the week ended well with a Gold Medal in the Mixed Team Tier 2 event. 4 straight h2h wins with 2 shoot off wins including an X in the gold medal match to win the shoot off.
